Storage units and cabinets are essential to any space. World Market's Owen line offers a number of storage options in a subtle gray finish, accented by wire and metal hardware. Price points range from $40 to $100 if I am not mistaken. Weight-wise, neither one feels too heavy or too light--something a woman of my stature can pick up and move around without too much difficulty.

Coffee Mango Wood Metal
Looking for a new surface to place your cup of joe, books, Sunday paper, and a little glass vase of dandelions?

I came across this great living room addition a few months ago and I have to admit, it's been rolling around my mind all this time. Metal accents, casters, durable mango wood. My goodness. It's as if someone cracked open my brain, took what I was envisioning, and created THE perfect coffee table for me. Perfect in the sense it can (and will) double over as a drawing surface with bottom-shelf storaging. And all I had to do was stand there imagining it all into fruition.
Aiden, you are a dream come true.
(Side note: I saw a nearly identical model at Restoration Hardware. The one at RH undoubtedly is made of higher quality wood and metal, but retails for approximately $1,000.)

Pottery Barn.
The first thing that comes to mind when I hear those words is Boy Meets World--the 90s sitcom centered around a boy named Cory Matthews, his best friend Shawn Hunter, girlfriend Topanga Lawrence, teacher/life mentor Mr. Feeny (George), and his o-so-beloved family.
Why would this come to mind you ask? Well, I recall watching one episode in which Cory's older brother, Eric, met a gal (swell as swell can be) to whom he was pressured to say "I love you." What followed, per suggestion/request of new gal pal, were multiple shopping excursions to--you guessed it!--the Pottery Barn. Eric Matthews was none-too-happy to say the least.
Ever since then, I suppose I was never too partial to the idea of visiting Pottery Barn.
Until this happened . . .

I was floored when I came across the Photographer's Tripod Floor Lamp, which retails at $349, on an unplanned visit to the store.
Stunning. Stunning. Stunning. The lamp comes in two finishes: Bronze (pictured above) and Antique Nickel.
Somebody pinch me! Or better yet, photograph me.
Pretty Little Furnishings
OH EM GEE.
I become the epitome of young talk when I find furnishings that make my heart pound. You know . . . those key pieces that would complete any studio/loft space I ever imagine myself inhabiting. Floor to ceiling windows. Natural light flooding every square foot. Handsome hardwood flooring. Industrial concrete walls. Vaulted ceiling. Exposed brick here, there, everywhere. O, such sweet, sweet lullabies such spaces sing to me. Now that I have described the studio I envision finding, allow me to talk about furnishings and decor (additional posts on this subject to follow).
Today's spotlight shines on Restoration Hardware's 19th Century Parisian Brass Telescope, which retails at $2995 US.

I was able to see this brass apparatus in person. It was a tall, large whoosh of aesthetic loveliness.
Remarkable design combined with technology, functionality. Yes, the price is steep. However, imagine how much of the vast universe one can see through it. If it were ever in my budget, I would invest in this telescope over one of those quilted Chanel handbags any darn day.
Women. Go figure.
